Polymer/Rubber Industry Calibration Technicians

Our growing ISO 17025 accredited calibration division seeks more metrology professionals to calibrate and repair laboratory instruments and process controls for rubber & plastics industries. Our calibration laboratory is located 10 minutes west of Fort Wayne, IN.

Seeking calibration technicians with experience measuring the following properties:

  • Current, Resistance, Voltage
  • Duro, Hardness, Impact
  • Flow, Viscosity / Viscoelastic Properties
  • Force (Tension / Compression), Torque
  • Height, Flatness, Length, Level, Angle
  • Linear / Rotational Velocity
  • Mass, Density
  • Pressure, Vacuum
  • Temperature Accuracy / Uniformity, Humidity
  • Time, Frequency

To calibrate and repair laboratory instruments and process controls including:

Viscoelastic Test Equipment

  • Abrasion Testers
  • Brittleness Testers
  • Cut & Chip Testers
  • Cutting / Specimen Dies
  • Creep Testers Compression Set Testers
  • Extensometers
  • Flexometers
  • Gehman Testers

Under minimal supervision, candidates are expected to:

  • calibrate, repair, or perform preventive maintenance in accordance with defined procedures
  • report conditions of nonconformance
  • perform repairs required to return equipment to conformance
  • travel to customer sites as required, expenses-paid, to perform services

Critical Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to accuracy
  • Ability to carefully follow calibration procedures using calibration management software
  • Two-year degree in a technical field or equivalent technical experience
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Travel

Ideal Training / Experience

  • Formal advanced training in Metrology (i.e. military PMEL or AFMETCAL)
  • Experience calibrating equipment in a lab environment and on-site
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 and other quality assurance programs
  • Familiarity with metrology tools and software
  • Understanding of electrical and physical/dimensional principals
